Asus has finally lifted the covers officially on the much awaited family of tablets at the CES 2011. Asus offers a fleet of new tablets which should finally put an end to the long wait where people had to satisfy themselves with reviews and some mock ups.

You may be pretty much aware that Asus is set to unveil a new series of tablets under its Eee Pad line and chairman Jonney Shih makes it all the more curious by coming up with a video to give consumers an idea of the upcoming Asus tablets.

The first pictures of the Asus EA800 tablet are out, the 8” tablet which curiously boasts of a monochrome LCD display rather than familiar E ink display. It runs on a Marvell CPU and should be an interesting tablet that students or even teachers may find handy.

Asus may have something up by this month with reports that the Taiwan-based company will release a range of new 12” tablets boasting of Intel Core i5 processors in the coming weeks. These new Asus tablets are believed to be made for the high-end consumers and will play within the price range of $1,000 to $1,299.
